Multan is the ancient city Hindu’s lived there before emergence of Pakistan. Government of Multan established its board on 30th March 1968 under the Ordinance of Government of West Pakistan. It previously contained Dera Ghazi Khan, Quetta, Kallat and Bahawalpur in its Jurisdiction but in 1968 Quetta and Kallat separated. After some time in 1978 Bahawalpur Board was also established independently and at last 1989 Dera Ghazi Khan board also got separated therefore now jurisdiction of Multan board consist of districts Multan, Khanewal, Vehari and Lodhran. Multan board is autonomous body to make rule and regulations for educational system in area and to conduct examination. It don’t receive any donation from government and is self-financing body.
It conducts many seminars and workshops to teach and guide its faculty. Syllabus and course books are as per government and books used are from Punjab textbook board publications. The board teaches students in English, Urdu, Local dialect and other classical languages and exams are also conducted in same languages. There are many government and private schools and colleges affiliated with board in its jurisdiction and every year exams in institution are conducted by board.

Admissions start two months before exams start of each SSC and HSSC. Main objective of the board is to conduct Matriculation and Intermediate exams part I and part II under the main Governing Administrative body of 15 members in Board of Governors. In BISE Multan Board 240,000 students appear every year for attempting matriculation exam and 130,000 appear for Intermediate exams. Examination for matriculation are conducted in the month of March and for Intermediate in month of April. Many students appear as private and other as regular students in exams. Admission forms are posted to affiliated institution and also online forms are given. Results are calculated in 3 months after exams approximately result for matric is announced in July and for intermediate in August.
Usually results are announced as follows by BISE Multan board 9th class on 25 August,10th class on 25 July,1st year in October,2nd year in September. Different groups and subjects are decided by board for matriculation groups are science and arts and for Intermediate groups are pre-medical, pre-engineering, commerce, computer science, general science and arts. Model papers and past papers are also made available to improve skills of students. Scholarships, prizes and awards are granted to students who score high marks. Chairman and administration are making changes with modern changing world to provide all possible facilities there are also funds separated for students who cantt afford to decrease financial stress over them.
